The Calendar

Fundacja Józef is proud to announce the calendar is almost finished. Currently, the foundators are looking for sponsors who like to be a part of this wonderful project. Also, now you can buy your own calendar for the next year in a very good price – 47PLN (it’s about 10£). As The Foundation pays for printing and delivering the calendars to you, the part of the income will cover these costs and the 100% of the rest of it will help our young heroes. Get one for yourself or your friend and become a hero too!
For further information, please, ask Michał Kosowicz – the father of the project.
I’m very happy I could be a part of the project. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Adaś & Tomek

Here is the next part of The “Józef” Fundation’s project. Adaś is a seven month old boy whose life depends on a respirator. In his third day of life he was diagnosed with spiral muscular atrophy (SMA). It is a death sentence for a child. The boy’s father, Tomek, does not give up. He decided to move heaven and earth to get his son out of the irreversible. He crossed the ocean when he heard about experimental treatment for Adaś. Every 45 days the boy is given an injection. Thanks to that he is able to move his head and hand or suck on a dummy, which was impossible before. Now it is Tomek’s biggest dream to see Adaś breathing without the respirator’s help. Adaś is the only child in Poland who started this treatment. At the same time he is huge hope for other children suffering from SMA.

Here is the next part of Józef Fundation’s project. Meet Adam whose dream is to skydive, just like his Dad. It hasn’t been sure yet, if that dream comes true – Adam suffers from bone cancer. The disease led to the leg surgery after which he should not run, jump, or even play soccer, otherwise he may lose his leg. Despite that, he doesn’t lose his heart, and he tries to support his ill friends. During the commando feast, he asked the soldiers for a foto with greetings to the friend who had chemotherapy.

The “Józef” Foundation

Life is unpredictable. I would never have thought I could land in a hospital today, but well, it happened. No worries, I’m fine. The post is not about me; it’s about a serious and big project. I think I mentioned about it in the very first post and now, finally, it started!
Michał asked me to a be part of his Foundation “Józef” and take photos for a calendar showing fathers with their sons and their everyday battle for tomorrow. I’m listening to their stories and I can’t believe how strong these people are. It’s really hard to imagine all these problems they have to live through; they don’t give up and they keep smiling anyway. That’s tough and inspiring at the same time.
Meet Józef: a 5 months-old boy who is the main reason for all the history of the foundation. Let’s call him Joozik. Imagine, in his third day of life, he had a very tough surgery of the emergence of a stoma. Doctors had to remove a massive blockage in his intestines. His pancreas doesn’t work. In the fifth week of his life, finally, for the first time of his short life he went home. Happiness was short: Joozek was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Now he’s 5 months-old and, although he’s spent half of his life in hospital, his unbelievable serenity makes all the people around – his parents being no exception – optimistic. Meanwhile, his Dad created The “Józef” Foundation with the main purpose of fund-raising for other organisations and building a civil society.

To get more informations about the Foundation, you can contact Michał Kosowicz or check the website: http://fundacjajozef.org/. The calendar will be available since 01.11.2016; until then we’ll keep you up to date with our progress.DSC_0201-2
