Life is unpredictable. I would never have thought I could land in a hospital today, but well, it happened. No worries, I’m fine. The post is not about me; it’s about a serious and big project. I think I mentioned about it in the very first post and now, finally, it started!
Michał asked me to a be part of his Foundation “Józef” and take photos for a calendar showing fathers with their sons and their everyday battle for tomorrow. I’m listening to their stories and I can’t believe how strong these people are. It’s really hard to imagine all these problems they have to live through; they don’t give up and they keep smiling anyway. That’s tough and inspiring at the same time.
Meet Józef: a 5 months-old boy who is the main reason for all the history of the foundation. Let’s call him Joozik. Imagine, in his third day of life, he had a very tough surgery of the emergence of a stoma. Doctors had to remove a massive blockage in his intestines. His pancreas doesn’t work. In the fifth week of his life, finally, for the first time of his short life he went home. Happiness was short: Joozek was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Now he’s 5 months-old and, although he’s spent half of his life in hospital, his unbelievable serenity makes all the people around – his parents being no exception – optimistic. Meanwhile, his Dad created The “Józef” Foundation with the main purpose of fund-raising for other organisations and building a civil society.
To get more informations about the Foundation, you can contact Michał Kosowicz or check the website: http://fundacjajozef.org/. The calendar will be available since 01.11.2016; until then we’ll keep you up to date with our progress.
